1955 Evinrude

I have a 1955 7.5hp evinrude aquasonic(model#7518 s/n 202257) in near mint condition. The only problem is the duel lines, the tank is not holding pressure. The motor starts and runs as long as one hand is on the pump at the tank and the other is driving, makes it tough to troll with. <br /><br />Any idea on the value of the motor???

Could be the <br /><br />O-rings in the connector(s)<br /><br />Gasket at the tank where the aluminum assy is screwed down<br /><br />Gas cap not tight or sealing<br /><br />Get it started and spray a very soapy solution all around till you find the bubbles of escaping pressure.

I've replaced the tank gasket and the O-rings, I'll check the cap. any chance it could be the thumb plunger??

Yes indeed Pintail, it could be a leak in the diaphram. If you use Yepblaze's suggestion it should help you determine where the leaks are.

Go on Ebay you can get a reconditioned tank for about a $100.00
