I have a model QD16 serial #1237240. What is involved in making it like new. I just bought it at a garage sale, hope I didn't pay to much for it but I just had to have it because it is so neat to have a 10HP outboard. They run all day on a little aluminum boat. Fast fun and it doesn't break you.

Howdy, FlyBob.

Your QD-16 is a 1955.

Champion J6J or modern Champion equivalent, .030 gap.

Points set at .020.

24:1 mix, 6 gal. 87 octane unleaded, alcohol free gas and 1 qt. TC-W3 outboard oil.

Most parts are easily available. You would be surprised how many of those 47 year old engines are still in regular service.

Good luck. :)
