I have a 56 15 HP evinrude I have been working on. All is going well thanks to this forum! Starts on the first pull now. Well it did until the starter rope broke while pulling on it. I found instructions and Im pretty sure I did it right but the wheel won't wind the new rope back in all the way. It worked fine before it broke.
So my question is does that mean I need to get a new spring? Did I miss something obvious? It wasnt kinked or anything but when I took it out it stayed coiled up pretty good so I assume its lost its strengh. It was also not hard to get back on because of this.
Also does anyone know the part # for the spring?
Thanks
Joe
