1956 30hp big twin

i know this is a repeat question for most but is 50:1 too lean. i run 50:1 on my 1954 7.5 rude dude and it runs great. what about the 30hp?

Both should be 24:1. Especially the 7.5 hp. Some will say the 7.5 hp should be run at 16:1.

so u think i should richen it up? i dont want to ruin them and what do u recommend for oil type? thanks

TC-W3 outboard oil mixed with 87 octane gas. I prefer synthetic oil as it smokes much less and is more environmentally friendly.

Absolutely richen them up!! The 7.5 especially, as it is babbit bearings throughout and needs the extra oil both as a lubricant and as a cushioning & sealing agent. 24:1 using TCW3 rated oil & 87 or 89 octane gas in both...
