Is it possible to change a 1956 Evinrude 30HP Lark from a short shaft to a long shaft?

Sure is! You'd need an extension piece for the midsection, water pipe extension or lonshaft pipe, longshaft driveshaft, shift rod extension and coupler or longshaft shift rod, and the long bolt for the back. Go to johnson.com and navigate your way through parts and accessories to find engine diagrams. Parts blowups for a late 60s 28Hp or 33Hp will show you what you need.
