1956 Big Twin Electric Starting motor

Picked up a 56’ Crestliner 15’ with 56’ Big Twin on it....
Seems a bit long for this 15 inch transom measures out closer to long shaft motor than a short shaft.... were there optional shaft length available that year, looks like the 30 hp was made only 1 year. Thanks in advance for your replies.

All my short shaft motors measure around 17 in. And my long shaft motors are around 22 in.. That's measuring from the transom bracket to the anti cav. plate...

OMC motors of that era ran deeper than they do today. That's why people look at them and think they are too deep. Wanna know why they ran deep? Because most boats back then were made of wood, with keels.
