I cannot find the permatex flange seal product. Is the #1 permatex hardening gasket product suitable for mating the power head case together? Or what should I Use? second question The impeller housing appears to have been cleaned and modified to accept three new mounting bolts one is 1/4-20. when I bolt the housing down it appears to squeeze the impeller in the vertical demension. any thoughts on repair or remedy. The wear plate is new and was modified to accept the new mounting bolts. I finished the new bronze wrist pin bushings last night and with your HELPPPP!!! I am looking forward to showing all of you some pictures of a smoking new baby.

I don't think that stuff would be appropriate on the crankcase halves. The correct stuff is Scotch #847. Replaces Sealer 1000 and OMC Adhesive M. It is also the correct stuff to seal the spagetti seal in the gearcase. Not in the usual hardware stores. Dealers should have it. Or McMaster Carr (on-line) has it cheaper than the dealer. A tube will last you 99 years. Or one year if you do 99 motors.

Make sure you have the right impeller, housing should not be squeezing it down if all is correct.
