I have a 1956 Evinrude Fastwin on my 14 foot boat. It starts and runs well, but the boat is heavy. Ran at WOT yesterday around 3500 RPM. Specs say operating range is 4000-5000 RPM. It has a 9 x 11 prop currently. I see there are props of 9 x 10 and 9 x 9 available. Any suggestions as far as what pitch would be best? Thanks, Rick

I'd go for the 9x9, as you have a lot of RPM to make up. What did you use for a tachometer?

It's similar to a Tinytach, but made by another company (Sendec). I always thought I was overpropped but just put the tach on this year. At least if I go with a 9 x 9 I will be able to dial it back with a light load. There's nothing I can do at this point with the 9 x 11. What RPM should I shoot for to be comfortable? Thanks, Rick

My manual says 4000 rpm. Where are you finding your info. on the props? I've looked and can't find anything and I would like to get a back up prop.

You should start your own thread. The moderators may shut this down. There is a tab at the top of the main prop page.
If your going to be getting a prop its a good time to check your setup with a tach and a gps
and see if you can improve your performance. Get us the info required in "read this first" at the top of the page.
In 56 they motor was rated for 4000 to 5000 rpm. Your prop size may be near the base of the blades.
If you just want a prop spare used those numbers.
