I have a 1956 Evinrude Fastwin 3hp that I am gettting ready for duck season. I installed a new impeller but after running it for a few minutes the engine siezed. I was able to loosen it up and it restarted. Is there a water outlet (pee hole) on this motor?

Thanks

No there isn't, but you should feel a mist coming from the exhaust idle relief holes. On your engine, I belive they're on the front of the midsection. You can clearly see exhaust exiting from them.
The cooling passages on the 3hp are tiny and prone to clogging. Try blowing through the water tube.

The most common places for blockages are the passage where the water runs across the top of the block and down into the cylinder (acessable by removing the exhaust plate). Also, there's a narrow constriction at the bottom of the cylinders' water jacket, which is excessible from the bottom of the engine block (after you detach it from the midsection). There are essentially two parallel circuits for the water - 1 up the exhuast plate then across the top of the block and down the intake side, and 2 from the top of the top cylinder (via circuit 1) to the bottom right of the bottom cylinder. Both circuts need to be unblocked for the engine to run properly. If 2 is blocked, the engine will take a long time to overheat.

Hope this helps!
