I have a Gale 1956 5D12 motor that has water in Gear Case everytime I cange oil making the oil milky white. I have broken down the lower unit to the point of replaceing the impeller that is on order from Iboat part #9-45216, although the one I have looks good to me. I have looked under the impeller plate and not too sure the O ring in the bearing housing seal is doing a good job. I have noted the drive shaft in the area of the bearing housing seal is not smooth and machined. it looks more like "Rusted" and worn, but that can be from water leakage I guess. My questions are, Could a bad Bearing housing seal be the cause of my milky white oil? If so how do I find a replacement bearing housing seal? How hard is it to replace the bearing seal. Also, is the driveshaft still available if I need to replace it?
