I picked up an old Johnson 30hp Javelin this past weekend. I only gave $25 for it. I got it started yesterday after reading thru about a 100 threads here. The oil in the lower unit looked ok, but I drained it and removed the impeller. Ordered a new one from Carquest, will be here tomorrow. Now that the background is done, here is my question. Where can I find the duel outlet for the tank? Can I convert it to a single line? It appears the secong line is just for air. Is it necessary? I don't want to screw up the motor, from what I've read here it seems to be pretty desirable. Thanx for any input.

Finding that dual connector will probably be difficult and expensive. You can probably buy another complete pressure tank setup for as much as you'd pay for the connector. The air line hookup IS NECESSARY! Motor won't run without it, as there is no fuel pump. It relies on pressure to push the gas into the carb. You can just hook up the gas/air lines directly to the motor and it will run fine that way. Just remember to hook them up correctly - gas line goes to carb, air line goes to manifold. You can convert the motor to a single line with a fuel pump. There are threads on here telling how to do it.
