My 1956 Johnson 7.5 Model AD-10 only wants to start with the aid of starter fluid. It has spark and new J6C plugs. The two line pressure tank delivers gas because it works with another motor, and fills the glass bowl on the 7.5. The choke opens and closes. The cylinder head has a good gasket, and is well sealed. Once the motor fires on the starter fluid it runs fine both at idle and high rpms. I do see some water leaking from one of the cylinder head core plugs..could that be related? I'm thinking that maybe there's some gunk in the low speed fuel circuit. Thanks for any ideas.

Dont use any more starter fluid.Use WD40 it
has the lubrication a 2 cycle needs. Sounds
like you need a carb. rebuild with attention to the choke circuit.Dont forget to get yourself a ser. manual.
Good luck.
