1957 35 hp Johnson tell tale??????

Hi everyone a couple months ago i picked up a old 35 for $100 with the pressure tank. I did the normal tune up on these old motors points, condensers, plugs, coils, carb kit, impeller,etc. the motor runs very good and pumps water out the exhaust leg like it is supposed to but the problem I am having is that on the boat it is very hard to see the pee stream unless you bend over thee transom of the boat. I have heard of people adding tell tales to some 70s motors but never these old ones. Maybe there is some way to do it on this motor to??? Any advice is appreciated

Depends on the mtr. Some tell tales had a fitting on the exhaust cover and some had a fitting on top of the block. Depends on where you want to put it.

I want to put the tell tale on the exhaust cover if I can but I am confused as to the location of the exhaust cover/ where I would drill a hole
