I recently got ahold of what appears to be a fairly solid 1957 35hp Evinrude Lark that's been in heated storage for many years with all the fluids drained. Let it be known that my first problem is I have no practical experience working on outboards except for the three that I own (150 XR4, 25 Chrysler, 4.5 Johnson) but I am certified mechanic so I'm fairly good at following service manauls just close enough to keep things running. Now I haven't had a chance to order a manual for the Lark yet, but I'm pretty much ready to fire this thing up except for one minor problem. There is one green wire coming off the throttle shaft (along with a black ground wire) on the left hand side that goes up through a hole in the bottom cover and ends right around the generator, but it's not attached to anything and I would assume it serves some usefull purpose. Nine times out of ten you can move a wire end around like this until it's evident where it needs to connect, but I'm at a loss here. I tried to attach a pic but my camera saves the file at 1.2mb and the upload limit is somewhere around 97kb. Since it appears I'm intellectually challenged in both arenas, any thoughts on one or both issues?
