Hate to say it, but it's worth whatever someone will pay for it. I can't give you a set value because there isn't one. Go to most marinas and they'll tell you to throw it in the trash. Go to a swap meet and they'll tell you - nice motor, but common. Go to eBay and it's the luck of the draw. I've seen nice ones go for $40 and I've seen junk go for $400. You might get lucky and find someone who has a personal attachment to your model - his Grampa used one... weird Uncle Freddie used to take him fishing... had one when he was a kid... etc.

Bottom line is that the 7.5s are quite common, still many in use (just do a search on this board!) and they run well when taken care of and kept in tune... Do a good deed and give it to a son/daughter/nephew or neice who needs a hobby...

- Scott

Tracker--Ditto Scott...for example, there's a '57 Johnson 7.5 on ebay asking $600! There's an outfit on ebay that's set a reserve of $300-400 on the mid fifties 5.5 to 10 hp range. Then there's free ones sitting in garages, though I've yet to find one. So, essentially it's worth what anyone will pay. But here's the key--although you may find a far more efficient newer motor (for about $1200-1500), you may not find a hardier, quieter, nicer running outboard in that hp range. If it were mine, I'd fix it, unless it's well beyond repair, or find someone who would care for it, because then it will outlast all of us, and its value will be in its age, and not dollars.
