This may be a dumb question but I've been looking for hours online. Was there a power tilt/trim setup for the 1957 Johnson 35 horse? If so I assume it's rare and hard to find

None that I'm aware of. CMC.com makes an after market that will work.

Power trim was virtually unheard of in 1957.

If so I know several dozen that would be extremely interested in factory TandT for a 1957 JohnyRude. Me included......

Yep, CMC or other aftermarket makers is about it.

What boat? Or just of interest?

Thanks everyone! Jimmbo that comment made my day!šŸ˜‚ I'm running a 89 14' alumacraft lunker ltd just redid the floor and carpet on it Ran new wiring for lights live well and bilge I was seriously debating power tilt and trim one of my favorite spots you gotta go threw some serious shallows and it would be nice to e able to trim a little higher than what it does now which is practically none

Our shallow water tilt system was something like a 2 X 2 wedged in between the bracket and midsection, but the instant the engine hit something or hit bottom and lifted even the slightest, the tilt system was floating away. Too bad that engine uses a series of slots for the tilt adjustment instead of holes, otherwise if you were handy with metal a support could be fabricated that utilized an unused hole to support the engine at a higher angle and then swing out of the way for deep water.

Or use the electric going through the shallows

I've tossing around the idea of fabricating something. I'm no Jesse James but I can weld cut grind and do math. Basically a wedge that would lock onto the agjusment bar. I got the electric from a friend who just got a new one and was giving it away. The guys who installed his new dropped this one and cracked the pivot arm frame as well as broke an ear of the hinge and bent the pin I'm trying to fabricate a new hinge for it then I just need to tig that crack, till then it would be nice to not go threw shear pins like there going out of style

Know of a dealer that had a box full of " U-shaped " spring brackets-----------Gave them away with each new motor in the 1960's.------------Could be used on the trailer or shallow water.---------Bracket stayed on the motor.
