I have and old Johnson that has a compression release starter on it. I need to fond a new flywheel, this one has a chunk taken out of the rope wrapper on the to of the fly wheel that is about 2 inches by 1 inch. I am afraid the 4500 rpm engine speed will shimmy a bit if I use it.
What are your best prices, for a coil and a new flywheel with no chunks taken out of it?
you can send email to muleywagon@ghostown-usa.org

Coils for your motor are available from NAPA Auto Parts (aftermarket parts made by Sierra). Check periodically on Ebay for a flywheel. You can also post an ad on the antique outboarders site: http://www.aomci.org/webads.htm . There are a lot of parts around.

Good luck.

Hello muleywagon.
Twin city had everything for the 57 that I play with.
Call them at #952-496-1951.
They will charge shipping and handling on top of what they quote you.
