I finally got my baby running. Thanks for everybody's help.
I'll have to play with the low idle screw to get it perfect but she's sounds good.
I am wondering if I have the impeller in correctly.
How much water should be coming out of the rear?
I had some water spraying out but I was expecting a stronger flow so I felt outer exhaust cover and it was getting warmer than I expected, so I shut it down.
I've looked at pictures in the service manual of the impeller direction and can find pictures of the impellers going both directions. I think some are in the upper housing and others are setting on the lower housing.
I may have put the impeller in the wrong direction when I had it apart.

What should I look for?

As you insert the impeller rotate the drive shaft clockwise looking down on it.
water should burble pretty well out the hole onthe leg.
Very carefully feel the head as you run it.should get to hot too hold your hand on but not so hot it burns you.If testing it in a barrel I fill it so the water is up the lag as it would be in the water at rest.
