1958 Evinrude 10hp, "How To" on timing motor?

I have the Sportwin model 1958 Evinrude 10hp. Is there such a thing as timing this motor? I have no books or manuals. The motor is flooding out all the time. Will be getting a carb kit and installing it soon, this might help. Kinda suspect it is a float or needle seat problem. Motor runs great at idle but terrible at wide open, sputters, has no power and smokes a lot at WOT. Any HELP appreciated.

Not really much to timing it. Just make sure the flywheel is on tight and lined up with the key in the crankshaft.<br /><br />I'll bet your carb. kit will fix you right up.
