1958 Glasspar Avalon

I just purchased a 1958 Glasspar fiberglass 16-foot boat. It's in great shape. I took out the carpeting, and there is a 3-inch diameter brass plug in the floor. Can anyone give me any information on what this is for. <br /><br />Thanks for any info.<br /><br />Jim L.
