1958 johnson prop color

Hi,my little JW-14 came with a black prop,but all the pictures I have seen have a white one.Does that mean it has been replaced? It is a 2 blade,thanks.

Not necessarily. I believe I read that they put lots of different prop colors on those OMC's according to what they had lying around at the time. I could be totally wrong. I know in the '50s they did put more than one color prop on the same engine model. Personally, I like the white props on johnsons AND evinrudes of any color, except the green johnsons.

My older Big twin('61) and the fat fifties I had (1958) all had 3 blade white props. I never thought OMC made 2 blade props for their motors.

Original prop would have been white, 2 blade, 6 1/8" diameter, by 6 1/4" pitch.
