Hello! I came to this site on a recommendation from one of the Facebook groups I'm in. Lots of great information on here, I've been reading post after post since I got off work tonight! I'm really glad I found this place, as I am underway with my first boat project.

Anyways, my boat is a 1959 Crestliner Commodore that my wife and I bought last September for a few hundred bucks. I'm not really doing an all out resto, but rather just trying to make it a safe, reliable boat that my family can enjoy without breaking the bank too bad. I have the same philosophy with my my old cars: I like them to be functional and use them their intended purpose first and foremost, but I also want to look good doing it:D

So far I have the whole thing blasted apart in my garage and am just about done with the new wood for the transom, seats, and dash. Hopefully in the next few weeks I will have the hull stripped and ready for paint, and then it's on to wiring and motor.

The boat came with two 1959 Johnson 35s, one that supposedly runs, and one that is complete but not running. I have never owned or worked on an outboard before, so I will definitely be asking a lot of questions over in the motor section!

Thanks for looking, and thanks in advance for answering all of probably very simple questions that I will be asking in the near future!

Please avoid posting to topics that have been inactive for 90+ days w no new posts by whoever started a topic.

Iboats forums dont have a used parts swap, sell or trade section, please dont ask other member to sell their boats, parts, motors or trailers.

Both are covered under the rules you agreed to when you joined.

The your requested parts post in an inactive topic was deleted.

Best of luck rehabbing your Commodore, its a nice boat.
