1959 Merc 35A - Stator

HI, new to this forum.

My uncle gave his old 1959 Mercury 35A S, serial # 1233539 last year. Starter worked fine so did compression test, 125 across the board, cylinder bores still shiny. He always was very careful in looking after all his stuff. Threw in new points in the maneto and new plugs. Hardest part was replacing the water pump impeller and bottom end gaskets and seals. Starts and runs well in the barrel. Electric start with Qyicksilver controls.

Question is, besides the ZIP boat I'll have build for it, that's a month or two away, there is no stator or rectifier on this motor. Does anyone know if these motors came with a stator or if new/used stators/rectifiers are available. Might be nice if anyone knew if the 55 or other stators would fit the 35A

Most came without a alternator but if you feel the need there are many 4 cyl. 40 and 44 cu.in engines out there what will act as donors for a system.

Thanx for the quick reply, thought similar model engine stators might fit. Just prefer not having to worry about recharging battery at cottage that is boat access only with no electricity.
