Thanks all for the assistance! Im just starting, and reading the board here has generated some questions...

Is this an air cooled, or water pump?

Mixture?

Sparkplug #?

Oil or grease in the gears?

Water cooled. The pump is behind (forward of) the propeller. It is a "wobbler rotor" type pump and the rotor is often swollen from grease. They are available.

May have originally been 16:1, but Gale changed it to 24:1

J6C

"Lubriplate 105 Motor Assembly Grease" Get it from N.A.P.A. Auto Parts stores.

It probably has a bad coil. They all do unless it has already been replaced. They have new ones here at iboats

Thanks!

I am trying to take it apart, it will not turn over. I unbolted what I think is the cylinder and it just moves back and forth about 3/4 of an inch, it will not pull away from the case at all. is the piston frozen and this is the play in the rod? Im not sure how its constructed..

Anyone have an exploded view??

(ill buy a manual later, i need to get it apart to see if its worth reparing)

Are you saying the piston moves back and forth from the crankcase 3/4"? If so, yeah the piston is frozen in the cylinder. Let me know if you want to sell it for junk.
