I have a this motor and it is in great shape, It starts very easy and idels great, When I crank it up to full it stalls out , If i have it in N i can run it a high rpm and it doesn't stall I have the fuel mix right. I still have the orginal parts manual and it calls for a half pint per 1 gallon

#1, NEVER rev it up to high RPM in neutral, unless you want to hunt around for the scattered pieces that didn't puncture your gizzard when it blew up. This is not meant to pick fun at you, just a serious warning.

Ok, having cleared the air on that, it would sound like you have a bad fuel pump or an air leak anywhere between the fuel pump and fuel level in the tank. Probably a petrified diaphragm in the fuel pump. I believe new diaphragms are available here at iboats (??). Will it keep running if you squeeze the masher bulb when it is wanting to die?

EDIT: Fuel pump diaphragm here at iboats http://www.iboats.com/mall/partfind...&gd_poid=112434&gd_row=1&**********=553943432

I have just purchased a boat that came with a 12hp barracuda, not sure what year it is.
Model # is 160941 and serial # is 2155.
Anybody know?
As for the revving in Neutral..... oops me too!
Looking at the decals on the motor I think it may say that where it is partially torn away.
Sorry, I am metric, but if I have the mixture figured out correctly, is it supposed to be 10 to 1? That seems really high.
