Re: 1960 40 hp evinrude hood parts
I'm looking for the parts to attach the bottom rim and the top cover to my 1960 40 hp evinrude. I took them off to paint the cover and lost them. Now I have no way to attach the cover to the boat. Any ideas?
You are speaking of the fasteners that hold the fiberglass shell to the bottom part of the hood, right?
If I may be so bold and reckless as to assume they are the same as a 1961, they are part number 204903 Cover fastener, and 204904 Screw, fastener. Takes 10 each.

EDIT: Wait, I said that was bold and reckless. The 1960 hood is more like the 1959. The 1959 parts are 204472 Retainer, and 204514 Screw. Still 10 each. Sorry about the confusion
