1960 40hp Johnson motor controls question

Will I need to use a motor control box which has separate throttle and gear selector levers, or can I purchase on which is combined into one lever?<br /><br />sorry, I don't have the serial # at my side right now.

Mr Tate, i also own a late 60's <br />johnson, the controller i have is 2 built into 1 hope this helps, they shouldnt be that hard to find either.

You can use pretty well any control you like. The only thing that's important is to have cables with OMC ends on them.

Right now, there are a few two-handle classic OMC controls on eBay...with cables. A guy might want to have a look there, I'd think.

mr tate if it helps any i have a couple sets of controls one is a johnson double shift 2 i beleive and a evinrude and also a old shipmaster control box.
