hello, i am fixing up a 35 hp gale outboard, i installed all new ignition parts, new battery cables got it running, but then it died after 30 seconds of running, now no click, nothing, i saw that a wire that goes from wire harness to a condenser was rubbing the flywheel, fixed that, but i notice that wire is hot, also one magneto is hot to the touch, other is cold, the hot one is the same one that the exposed wire was on, looks like that same wire goes to the kill switch, i can see that causing a no start, but not a no click situation, could the 50 year old solenoid go after proper power via the new cables?
please help
thanks

hi, the wires that are hot are connected to something that looks like a switch on the side of the motor, it has 2 wires and a vacuum hose connecting to the carb, it looks like a diaphragm of some sort.
i removed and and it looks fine. maybe its a kill switch of some sort, one end connects to main harness, the other end was the wire that the flywheel cut. both are hot to the touch

i think its my mercury switch, as i understand the part with the diaphragm is some high speed kill switch, i think that could be causing my no start, what does anybody think?
thanks
