1960 Johnson seahorse 3 hp

Recently purchased a 3 hp seahorse and lower unit will not tilt up. Any ideas or suggestions from past experience.

Yes it is.

Item #26 nut on #29 bolt is the tilt friction adjustment. Loosen or tighten as desired

Item # 53 is the hold-down latch. It should automatically latch or release, according to which direction the steering is pointing.

Just loosened it a little and it's good.
Doesn't it have a coter key so if you hit a stump it will break like the 2 hp seahorse or is that what 29 & 29 does?
