hello I wrote earlier regarding my 1960 Johnson rds 21. I got it in bad shape and couldn't get fire or anything. I have since cleaned the carb with a rebuild, changed impeller, new starter, new battery, new points and condensers. I jumped the battery out directly to starter and she fired right up. now the only major task I have is rewiring the boat. I know there are several wiring schematics up but I am slightly puzzled because I do not have some parts you guys show. where I am at now I have good wires coming off the coils just hanging. no cut out switches or mercury switches. best I can tell my choke switch is present but disconnected. I see no choke solenoid. from my switch I have a green wire going from battery terminal to main red terminal on starter solenoid. I have a white going from ignition to small terminal. from that point I am lost.... I would like to use a toggle or rocker for a kill switch not sure if that's proper. can you please advise Im a AC electrician and not well versed in the magnetos and required circuitry. thanks for the advice.
