It is cool lookin' aluminum all right, but I bet with some patience you can find one that doesn't need much, if any work done to it and for the about same money. I'd be suspicious of a "75%" complete boat too. Does that mean it only floats 75% of the time, or only starts 75% of the time, or both? His idea and your idea of "75%" complete could be way different from yours and if it sounds to good to be true it is. Now, if you can go see it in person, and talk him down to below $500, I'd say it's worth it. Otherwise, be patient and prudent. I bet you can get the same boat in week for less than he's asking now if/when it fails to sell at the price he's asking. Caveat Emptor! (especially when if comes to used boats )
I would disagree kfa, if that motor is running it could well be worth $600. You have an excellent point though on the restoration not being done yet. Obviously the value depends greatly on where you are in the country, but from what I've seen here in MI, that could readily be worth $600... but if the buyer inspects it first!
I am in Rocester, NY He said the original 35 hp outboard dismantled for rebuild, I do not think, he is done with motor yet. motor needs work. he did not reply my email yet, still waiting. Thank you all.
