Hello and thanks for reading,

I have recently picked up a 1961 15hp sea king motor #18737 no letter. all i have seen for model numbers matchin mine are with a letter suffix. Think this is a first run of this model. after swapin coils and water pump and fuel pump with an old 12hp buccaneer it runs awsome. pull lightly through compresion and bam its runnin. looks great too. very nice red and white paint. Anyway my question is what is this motor worth. I paid 200 dollars for the pair of motors. also the buccaneer has the ring gear and bracket for electric start. but no starter motor. I think there is room under the sea king motor cowl to fit and am also looking for a starter motor or info on it so i can find 1.

Thanks.

Not sure on the price, $200 seems reasonable for one that has all new ignition and been gone through as there is probably $150 in parts there. What year was the 12 if I might ask? I have a 55.

Down here in Tejas, it's worth about what you paid for both motors. Watch fleabay for starters, they come up all the time...ones for Evinrude Fastwins 18 hp of that era should be pretty easy to find, but not sure about price.
