Model # GG18736- Will the Johnsons/evinrude replacement fuel pumps work for this motor? Everything I read says this is just a Gale motor. Also how do you remove the prop? is it easy to replace seals in the lower unit? I think I have a gear oil leak and it's coming from around the prop area. I have access to a Johnson/Evinrude repair manual for the same years and was wondering if that will work for me? Thanks in advance.......as you can tell I am a newbie in the world of outboard motors but picked this one up for pretty cheap.

Bueller.....Bueller........103 views and no replies Come on guys help me out here. Where can I get a repair manual at? Just drained the lower unit gear oil and it has water in it so now I need new seals. This is turning into a project rather than a quick fix for me. Thank You

Better no replies than bad advice.

Yes, the J/E pump will work. You most likely will have to use a new re-routed hose. You weren't going to use that 50 year old hose anyway.

Reprints of the factory repair manual are at www.outboardbooks.com The J/E one probably will be better though. Just take the minor differences into consideration. In spite of what everybody will tell you, the Seloc #1300 manual from here at iboats isn't bad. Especially for the novice. Sure it covers a lot of models, but so does the Gale factory book.

Pop the rubber cap off the prop, remove the drive pin and cotter pin, and slide the prop off

Is it easy to do? Well.....depends.

Thank you. I found a mechanic to do the seals and impeller for me until I have more time to research it. Best part is he is taking an old motor I have for partial payment on the repairs. I am ordering the fuel pump and doing that myself since its a piece of cake. I want to get it on the water and don't have time mysel right now to do it. Working 10-12 hour days leaves little time for fun and fishin lol
