Does anyone think this is a good deal at $125.00? It's a 1961 Crestliner Mustang. 14' long. If I was reading correctly it has a balsa wood parque-looking floor (no stringers). Has one cheap plastic seat for driver but no original back-to-back lounge seats. Seller buys, refurbishes, and resells boats all the time. He says it has a strong floor and transom, no repairs needed. I don't have much time for a project boat. I just want to run around with the wife and kids for little money. No motor, no trailer included. But, does come with good functional steering and controls already installed.

For $125, if it runs for the entire day, you got a good deal. Can't rent a boat like that for $125 a day.
EDIT: Just saw that it had no motor. Still, for maybe another thousand, you could get a motor. Still a good deal.

If the floor and transom are good like the seller says, than that would be a fair price. The expensive part would be the motor and trailer, although you could find a donor boat for a decent price with those. That's a neat looking boat and would be fun to cruise around in.

Make VERY sure the Balsa Core deck is sound and solid. They are VERY problematic to repair.

I didn't buy this boat. The balsa floor had been completely removed and nothing put back in for a floor. The hull was just the outer fiberglass. This model had no stringers. The windshield was cracked in several places. The transom had aluminum plates installed for strength which I took to mean some PO of distant past knew the wood was rotten. I didn't bother checking it. Too much of a project for me. Thanks for the pointers on what to look for.
