I have low compression in the lower cylinder of my 1961 (model:5522B) 5.5 Fisherman Evinrude.<br /><br />It's probably my own fault. It has worked well every year but this year I started it up on last years gas. (the gas sat outside with no stabilizer all winter and it's real cold in Canada) It ran well for about 30 minutes (full out) and then went down to about half power which is where it is now.<br /><br />I did a cold compression check and got 90 psi on top and 50 psi on the bottom.<br /><br />Could it be varnish? Rings? Any ideas? Thanks for any help.<br /><br />Steve
