i like to keep my small collection of ob's below 15hp....other than that they are to heavy to deal with. i do have a line on a 61 gale 25 hp, that "supposedly" has been stored for 40 years, checked on the info, and cant find any "gale warnings" on the motor. i dont think its something i want, but is it a motor that can be serviced easily? ( the price could be to good to pass up on)

Are you kidding? That is a fine motor, and as simple as they get. It is very similar to the 28 and 33hp Johnson and EVinrude motors of the era, and many of the parts are interchangeable.

If you simply don't want a motor of that size, pass it on to somebody that will appreciate it.

Yea, like F_R says, great motors. Just like any Johny/Rude 28hp you'll find. I would jump on it, if the price is right. Like you, I stay with the smaller motors. 40hp is my limit in size for my collection.

Its an OMC motor, so if you like Evinudes and Johnsons, you like it as well. As mentioned, its pretty much the same motor as the OMC 28hp and 33hp motors, so parts availability is still pretty good.
