This motor, GG18736 (similar to the Gale 5D19?), has three plastic knobs lined up along the bottom of the front face of the motor. On the right, as you look at the face, is the choke knob which is fastened with a screw. The other two knobs, high and low speed adjust, look to be just pressed on tightly. Before I break them trying to pry them off, I want to be sure how they are attached. The parts diagram I looked at did not show the back of the knob, but does show the knob, then a c clamp and a bushing that attach to the knob shaft. Interestingly, the knobs do not attach directly to the needles, but to a shaft, then a linkage attachment to the needle.

I want to clean them and apply some touch up paint, so can I pry them off, or is there a trick? Thanks

I got my own answer: they pry off, unless they've become stuck on due to years of heat and cold weather exposure. Then they don't want to be removed.

Can you provide a picture of those three knobs?

I have the same motor so I will be following you around hahaha. My knobs just slide right off. I just bought mine a few weeks ago and have some work to do on it.
