Re: 1961 Gale

If its not exactly the same as a 61 E'rude look back at 60 and 59. The Gales were usually a 2 year old E'rude. (we kind of assume that you knew that and thats why your post was in the E/J section) It had to do with the 2 year warranty they had then and the component assemblies in stock.

Good luck!

Re: 1961 Gale

To Bubbabaxter,
I have a Manual for Gale engines under the name Sea King. It is with my motor at my motor repairman's shop. Let me know which model an size you have I will copy what you need and mail it to you. I purchased this from Wards many years ago.
If someone can steer me to the company that inventories these old Gale parts, now that Wards is gone, I would appreciate it. Sears doesn't find my model in there inventory. I thank for any help.

Earl - Sounds like you need a service manual for your 1960 OMC built engine. A mid-fifites aftermarket one from Iboats or the local library would be good (especially since they cover the remote controls in it), but the OEM manual is the horses mouth (and much better technically):

1960 Gale 35hp Service manual
