No, depending on the parts you need. Commonly replaced parts are very easy to get and inexpensive belive it or not.<br />Unfortunately, kencook.com has jacked up the prices of the factory manual, which is by far the best. Last time I checked marineengine.com still had the old prices. I haven't seen a used one on ebay in some time. There's aftermarket manuals but they arn't as good. The Seloc one Iboats sells is ok.<br /><br />Local library might have a manual too. <br /><br />Also, check out acmeoutboards.com . I don't know if the CD is any good but it might be great.
