What's a whole new water pump consist of on this model? I've been having overheating probs and it's been suggested that I put in a whole new pump. I just replaced the impeller. It's hardly been used. I did not replace the housing though. Just was wondering. thanks

A complete 379776 water pump kit consists of a new impeller, housing, plate, screws, water tube seals. Maybe a couple of other small parts. About $100.

The new housing will aid in the life span of the impeller, and improve flow, but if you are overheating drastically, Id make sure everything else checks out. Are you getting sufficient water flow? Was it overheating before the impeller install?

thanks for the responses....all. It starts overheating after about 15 minutes of run time. Not sure what you mean by drastically overheating...all I know is the dash light comes on so I shut her down. Thanks F R ....that was a good number you gave me. they wanted to charge me a buck 25 just for the housing.......will give it a go...got the gaskets on the way too.....everything is looking clear on the inside. Haven't busted into the exhaust yet....over

Thanks F R...Should I go ahead and clean it though while it's open? With some cleaner.... someone recommended oven cleaner? Yikes!
