Hey guys me again!! Looking for a little advice (that I will follow this time) about my carb. had it out on the river this week and think I forgot the choke on and it stalled out. while trying to restart the engine I had a small engine fire!! I quickly extinguished the fire which appeared to be limited to the engine pan below the carb. I have since cleaned the engine of said extinguisher power and attempted to start the engine which it did on the first crank then quickly died out agian. I noticed a lot of fuel dumping out of the carb. Any suggestions as to why and how to remedy? thanks Brian

Did any of the extinguisher powder get sucked into the engine?

thanks guys, will check the float and needle valve. I think a small amount of chemical got past the closed carb but I think I got most of it out with a shop vac and toothbrush....oh, patrick I am assuming PM means "problem man"? or is there some other PM I am not aware of....Thanks again, Brian

:):) That's been a problem lately, people misunderstanding the PM thing. It stands for "private message" and you can look at the top of your iboats screen and see them in the top right hand corner. It will say it right below the bold "Welcome, yourname" thing. Just click on the blue private messages link and read 'em.
GOod luck,
