1962 18HP Rude Fastwin

Had a member here say I needed a gasket between motor and lower unit shaft. Talked to Rude dealer today (he was very nice) But, he said no Gasket used there. Whatsup??

there is no gasket needed where the lower unit seperates from the motor. i got a 73' fastwin and there was no gasket on mine. you have a big exaust pipe hanging off your cavitation plate. the water goes up there so u need no gasket
