Thanks to all for posting all the great help. Rebuilt carbs and new coil ect., motor runs great. When I went to put on the lower side covers on the motor the high speed needle valve knob rubs agains the cover. The low speed valve has about an 1/8th inch between the cover and knob. Did I accidently reverse them? It runs really good.

Thanks

just did a rebuild (month ago) on my 3042, and i dont think your motor would run quite right if they were reversed, the needles looked totally different from each other.

It's a lot easier to get the covers back on if you remove the knobs.

I did install the covers with the knobs off. When I went to put the highspeed knob back on it is rubbing against the cover while the low speed doesn't at all. This doesn't seem normal and I was looking for a solution.

Thanks

Just pull the knob out a bit until it doesn't hit the cover, and tighten the center screw to secure it.
