1962 850 merc prop slips?????

Just last week I got this outboard on the water and it ran out real good,Then the prop started slipping,Took it off and the rubber had partilated on the rear of it what do I do? and what is it called?

You need to replace the hub in the prop with a new one.Prop shops will be your best bet.I would make some calls to make sure that they have the right hub before you take it to them.Ron G
