Just got a 62' 10hp, was running pretty good all day. Still playing with adjustments, i cant get it to idle to low with out it dying. playing around with the jets, trying to find the best spot. I noticed it ran better at lower idles with the choke partially pulled. Is that normal? Also at the dock after the day of fishing, i starting it one more time to go do a speed test, the pull cord riped right out.... Can i fix it? is it hard to do? Thanks for your help.:)

I'm almost positive you need to clean out your carb.-----running better on choke is the classic dirty carb. symptom.
Your recoil spring may be broken, or you just need to replace the rope. Either one isn't hard, but it does help to have done it before. There are some old threads on this topic, it's hard to explain.
