Just picked up my first motor which has been stored well for the last 15+ yrs. I am able to get a spark so I think the points may be OK and the compression is good. I need a new shift lever (broken), an impeller, and the grommet which fits under the cowling on the Prop side for starters. The electric start was removed but the mount remains if the starting units are reasonably available. I also need the fuel line and primer bulb assembly which I assume is just the standard.

Any advise on where to get these parts and/or suggestions of other things I should consider replacing/servicing before testing this motor on the open water would be greatly appreciated.

I am in ZIP code 07030. If you provide a cost, please estimate the freight and delivery time if possible.

Thanks Again.

mornin' jim,

for the hose & bulb, you migght try Walmart. As to the other parts, there are miriad sources including your local Bomb-OMC dealer. One (of many) good online sources is:
http://www.maxrules.com

You might also look at his "tune-up" pages:
http://www.maxrules.com/fixtuneitup.html

Additionally, this is a grreat place to start when breathing life into an old motor
http://www.precisionserv.com/Outboards/Revitalization.htm

Let us know how it goes.

Good Luck
HAVE FUN!
