1962 Johnson What ratio oil to gas.

Is there a chart or info somewhere for oil to gas ratios. What ratio for a 1962 and what do 50s evinrudes and johnsons run on. Thanks everyone. Mettyfish

1962 would be 24:1. Older models vary. I could post a chart, but it would start an arguement. Besides, there is more than one chart.

Generally speaking, for motors of the 1950's motors 10hp and up are 24:1 and below that are 16:1. Most of the 16:1 were changed to 24:1. There are exceptions.

1964-up are pretty much standardized at 50:1.

The 63 3hp was the only motor in that year with the friction based crank and rod assembly. It wouldn't hurt it to run at 16:1 either. All other motors had needle bearings. Excellent little motors though.:cool:

i have a 1962 johnson seahorse 3 hp with the orig stickers on the body and it says 1/3 pint per gallon ,im trying to clean it up for my dad but haveing trouble starting afer dissasembly of the carb if you have any pics or instructions to set the carb up send me a reply thx
