Re: 1962 Merc 110 fuel mix
Did the reeds behind the carbs look okay?
Still sounds to me like the float is set too high, needle/seat isn't sealing properly, and/or the idle jet may be worn out or set to far out.
May be a strange question, but did you check if the float actually floats?
Do you get a firm bulb when you prime it with the bulb, without having fuel coming out the carb?
To be honest I didn't look at the reeds behind the carb, but I will when I take it back off.
The float is new and it does float, and I do get a firm bulb without having fuel come out of the carb. The fuel doesn't seem to come out of the throat of the carb until it is choked. The more choke, the more fuel leaks out the bottom under the throat. I did look at the idle jet when I rebuilt the carb and it seemed smooth.
I also tried back flushing the pee hole and took the screw off of the fresh water flush, cleaned it out and flushed water back through that and the exhaust/pee hole. I still don't get enough water out of that hole, so I am thinking I will take the power head off and see if there is debrie from the impeller in there.
I probably won't be able to get to it until Monday now but I will double check these issues as well as the reeds. Thanks.
