Hi! I'm new here, and am having some issues with a 1962 Merc 60 6hp I just picked up. After some machining on the flywheel and a recoil on the upper cowl, I can now get it fired up. However, it will only stay running when I pump the fuel line, otherwise it dies as if out of gas. I ordered replacement diaphragms for the fuel pump, but noticed a steady drip of fuel that appears to be coming from the slit on the main nozzle on the carburetor. Is this typical? Should I rebuild the carb? I am also using a fuel connector from an fuel tank I used with an older murcery I had years ago. It seams identical to the one I got with the motor and fits perfect, but could this be causing the engine to die out? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
