I've had a 1962 Mercury 110 in my basement since my father died in 1980. I thought I'd see if I could get it running. The throttle control was so stiff it wouldn't move. I removed the flywheel and the plate the coils and points attach to. The grease was dried out and hard. Cleaned it all up and works freely. I noticed that where the "magneto friction clamps" contact the bearing housing, it was all worn out. The bearings and seal seem fine so I don't want to replace the entire assembly. Anybody have a fix for this? Thanks
